The Indonesia Golf Grand Slam
10 Days I 7 World-class Golf Courses I Luxury Accommodation I Unrivaled Indonesian Hospitality
Joglo Omah Kempalan
Your private base of operations for the duration of your retreat. Eight air-conditioned rooms, a private pool, and unobstructed mountain views from 450 metres above sea level. The estate is yours exclusively — fully staffed, fully provisioned, and entirely free of other guests. The kind of place that changes the quality of the conversation by the first evening.
Sentul Highland Golf
18 Holes I Par 72 I 6538 yards
Sentul Highland is where the circuit begins — and where first impressions are set. Built into the volcanic foothills north of Bogor, the course navigates dramatic elevation changes and ancient rock formations that no architect could have designed from scratch. The fairways demand precision off the tee: the highland terrain punishes wayward lines and rewards players who read the land rather than force it. Cool mountain air, fast greens, and a stillness you will not find at any lowland course. A proper opening examination.
Rainbow Hill Golf
27 Holes I Par 108 I 10,346 yards
The most ambitious course in the Sentul collection — and the one that stays with you longest. Rainbow Hill was carved directly into a series of tropical canyons, creating a layout where virtually every hole plays across or alongside a dramatic ravine. The 27-hole configuration means no two visits are identical: the three loops — each nine holes — combine into three distinct circuits of contrasting character. Sweeping mountain panoramas frame almost every tee box. Length is irrelevant here; it is course management and nerve that determine the scorecard.
Rancamaya Golf
18 Holes I Par 72 I 6,471 yards
Rancamaya is the most visually iconic course on the circuit. Designed around the natural contours of the Ciawi valley, the layout builds steadily toward one of the most photographed finishing sequences in Indonesian golf — a closing hole played directly toward the silhouette of Gunung Salak. The volcano does not merely provide scenery; on clear mornings it dominates the horizon from the 18th tee in a way that makes it almost impossible to keep your head down. A course with genuine character and a finish that justifies the entire round.
Day 5; Travel to Bali
Gunung Guelis Golf (West Course)
The highest course on the circuit and the most demanding in terms of pure altitude. Gunung Guelis sits 450 metres above sea level in the Jonggol highlands — cool, exposed, and unforgiving when the mountain wind picks up. The West Course is the longer and more challenging of the two loops, designed to use the natural ridge lines as both hazard and spectacle. By the final day of the retreat, legs are tired and concentration is tested. Gunung Guelis makes no concessions. It is the right course to close on.
Day 6; The Crossing
Travel to Bali
The Sentul chapter closes this morning. Five days, five courses, one mountain estate — and whatever was said around the dinner table at the Joglo that will not be repeated anywhere else.
Your transfer to the airport is arranged. The flight to Bali is short — under two hours — but the shift in landscape and atmosphere is immediate. The volcanic highlands of West Java give way to the terraced rice fields and coastal light of the island. A different Indonesia entirely..
Your accommodation in Bali has been prepared and confirmed. This afternoon belongs to you — arrival, a first look at the island, and the quiet anticipation of three more courses that play nothing like anything you have just completed.
The second half of the Grand Slam begins tomorrow morning.
Bali National Golf
18 Holes I Par 71 I 6,420 yards
Bali National is the reference standard for resort golf in Southeast Asia. Set within the immaculate grounds of the Nusa Dua resort precinct, the course was designed by Robin Nelson and sits among the most consistently well-maintained layouts in the region. Wide, forgiving fairways give way to precise, tiered greens — this is a course that looks accessible and plays harder than it appears. The tropical landscaping is meticulous, the conditions are reliable year-round, and the clubhouse sets the tone for Bali's particular brand of unhurried excellence. A composed, authoritative opening to the island leg.
New Kuta Golf
18 Holes I Par 71 I 6,643 yards
New Kuta is one of the most dramatic golf settings in Asia. Perched on the limestone cliffs of the Bukit Peninsula, the course plays across a headland above the Indian Ocean — a genuine clifftop links experience in the tropics. Several holes play directly along the cliff edge, with the ocean filling the peripheral vision and the trade winds adding a variable that no practice round can fully prepare you for. Designed by Peter Thomson and Ronald Fream, New Kuta demands a complete game: power into the wind, precision when the holes turn coastal, and the composure to enjoy one of the most spectacular backdrops in world golf without losing your focus.
Nirwana Bali Golf
18 Holes I Par 71 I 6,643 yards
Nirwana is where the Grand Slam reaches its emotional peak. Greg Norman's design wraps around the Tanah Lot sea temple complex on Bali's southwest coast — and the 7th hole, a par three played across a natural ravine with the ancient temple silhouetted against the ocean in the background, is among the most iconic single holes in Asian golf. The course is technically demanding throughout — undulating fairways, trade wind exposure, and greens that require local knowledge to read — but the scenery ensures that the scorecard is never quite the whole story. A course that stays in the memory for reasons that have nothing to do with your handicap.
Departure Home
There are no more fairways today. The clubs go back into their covers, the caddies are thanked for the last time, and the island begins its slow retreat in the rear-view mirror.
Your transfer to Ngurah Rai Airport is arranged and on time. Every bag, every detail, every document — handled.
What you carry home is harder to describe than a scorecard. Seven courses across two islands. A mountain estate in the highlands above Sentul. Mornings that started before the city woke up and evenings that ended well after it should have. The particular ease that comes from spending ten days with people you trust, in places that earned your attention.
The Grand Slam is complete. The enquiries about next year tend to start on the flight home.
